BACKGROUND

0002 Recent developments in computer user interfaces have recognized the practical convenience of tracking recent user interactions and saving work that a user may want to reuse soon thereafter. For example, modern operating sys tems have introduced a very useful feature of tracking recently used files and applications. In System 7.5, Apple Mac OS introduced a menu of recently used applications that was available from anywhere on the computer desktop through the Apple menu. Menus for recently used files and servers were added in subsequent versions of Mac OS. Apple, Mac OS, and Mac OS X, are trademarks of Apple Corporation in the United States, other countries, or both.
